A Set of Six Mid-Century Teak Macintosh Dining Chairs
Description
A set of six mid-century modern teak dining chairs by A.H. McIntosh, comprising two carvers and four side chairs. This set, designed by Tom Robertson and identified as Model 9513, represents classic 1960s British furniture design. The frames are constructed from solid teak with a warm-toned grain, featuring curved, shaped backrests with a single horizontal central slat. The carvers are designed with slender, tapered arms that join the back uprights to the front legs. All chairs are supported by round, tapered legs, characteristic of the period. The padded seats are upholstered in a mustard-yellow or ochre-coloured synthetic velvet fabric. The construction utilises standard mortise and tenon joinery. These Macintosh dining chairs are a matched set.
