A Replica Prussian Infantry Enlisted Man's Pickelhaube Spiked Helmet
Description
A replica Imperial German Prussian infantry enlisted man’s spiked helmet, known as a Pickelhaube. The helmet is constructed with a blackened leather shell and fitted with brass furniture. The front features a brass Prussian line eagle helmet plate (wappen) with spread wings, holding a sceptre and orb. The banner draped across the eagle’s breast and wings carries the motto Mit Gott Für Koenig Und Vaterland. The helmet is topped with a smooth brass spike mounted on a circular base plate, which is secured to the crown by four brass domed rivets. The piece includes a brass-edged front visor and a brass spine running down the rear. It retains two serrated cockades: the National (Reich) cockade in red, white, and black on the wearer’s right, and the Prussian state cockade in black and white on the wearer’s left. A black leather chinstrap with brass sliders is attached to the side lugs. An adhesive lot label with the handwritten number 9703 is present on the front left of the shell.
Height: Approximately 24 cm.
