An Assortment of Silver-Plated and Mixed-Metal Flatware and Tableware
Description
An assortment of silver-plated and mixed-metal flatware and tableware presented in a red tray. The collection includes a silver-plated sauce boat of traditional form featuring a scrolled handle and an integral stand. A five-slot wirework toast rack is present alongside a large silver-plated ladle with a tapering handle and a deep bowl showing evidence of a gilt-wash. Serving implements include a large spoon with bright-cut engraved decoration to the bowl and handle, a meat skewer, and several long-handled serving forks and spoons. The flatware selection comprises various teaspoons, dessert spoons, and souvenir spoons, some featuring enamelled terminals with heraldic crests. One teaspoon is housed in a small individual box. Several pieces feature handles crafted from mother-of-pearl, bone, and horn, with some metal handles designed in a style resembling King’s pattern. Small impressed marks are visible on the reverse of several spoon handles and near the terminals of the larger serving pieces, including three rectangular punch marks on the ladle handle and a vertical line of characters on the boxed spoon.
