A Collection of Fifteen Russian Legends and Ancient Egyptian Theme Porcelain Collector Plates
Description
A mixed group of late 20th-century decorative porcelain collector plates. The first group comprises eight plates from the Russian Legends series by Tianex, produced in the traditional Palekh lacquer art style. These feature intricate multi-coloured transfer-printed scenes of Russian folklore and fairy tales against a black ground, finished with ornate gilt-scrollwork borders. The second group consists of seven plates depicting Ancient Egyptian motifs, including pharaohs and deities, framed by vibrant cobalt blue and gold-tone geometric borders. All pieces are crafted from fine porcelain with transfer-printed decoration and gilt highlights. These series were typically issued as limited editions during the 1980s and 1990s. Diameter approximately 19 cm to 20 cm.
