A Late Victorian Style Ceramic Wash Basin and Pitcher Set Together with a Porcelain Baluster Vase
Description
A decorative collection comprising a coordinated ceramic wash basin and pitcher set alongside a large porcelain baluster-form vase. The wash set is of moulded ceramic construction, featuring a cream-toned glaze embellished with turquoise-shaded borders and elaborate gilded rococo-inspired scrollwork. The wide basin possesses a scalloped rim, while the pitcher displays a matching ornate handle and spout with monochromatic transfer-printed vignettes. The accompanying porcelain vase is decorated with a polychrome transfer-printed motif of purple grapes and autumnal foliage on a white ground, finished with gilded highlights to the rim and base. These pieces reflect the late Victorian aesthetic of the late 19th to early 20th century. Basin diameter approximately 38 cm, Pitcher height approximately 28 cm, Vase height approximately 32 cm.
