The group is executed in blue and white transferware on an earthenware body, further enhanced by hand-painted gilt detailing to the rims, borders, and lid finials. The assemblage includes three graduated lidded ginger jars, a large oval serving platter, a circular side plate, a pedestal fruit bowl, a pair of matching candlesticks, a single teacup, and a small tumbler. The pattern displays the classic narrative motifs including pagodas, a bridge with figures, and the pair of swallows, framed by intricate geometric and floral borders. While the pattern is an 18th-century design, this set represents a high-quality 20th-century production, likely by a noted English manufacturer such as Churchill or Johnson Brothers.
