Lot 327:
A Victorian Pierced Brass Skeleton Clock Frame and Associated Decorative Metalwares
Description
A collection of English Victorian period metalwares, primarily comprising the disassembled components of a brass skeleton clock. The pieces are cast in the Rococo Revival style, featuring intricate pierced scrollwork, acanthus leaves, and shell motifs. The lot includes the main decorative brass frames, support struts, and a circular pierced brass dial plate. Also included is a contemporary black-painted composite masquerade mask with gilt-tone decorative accents and a cord handle. The brass components show evidence of original lacquering and traditional 19th-century casting techniques. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible. Various sizes, contained within a box measuring approximately 40cm x 30cm.
