Large Collection of 200 Various Age Postcards and Ephemera, circa 1900-1950s
Description
This substantial collection comprises approximately 200 pieces of vintage ephemera, primarily postcards and greeting cards spanning the late 19th to mid-20th centuries. The assortment features a diverse range of subject matter, including humorous saucy seaside comic cards from the Bamforth Comic series and a notable artist-signed illustrative card by Mabel Lucie Attwell depicting a young girl with the caption Ise just a spud amongst the roses. The collection includes late Victorian and Edwardian colour-printed portraits of young women, topographical views in black-and-white and sepia tones showing metropolitan bridges and landscapes, and decorative floral birthday greetings. Of historical interest is a commemorative card marking the birth of King George V. Many examples retain original postage stamps and handwritten correspondence, offering a charming insight into social history. Dimensions approximately 140mm x 90mm per card.
