A Collection of Vintage Brass Decorative Items including Gretna Green Souvenirs and Reproduction Pistols, Mid-20th Century
Description
A diverse assortment of brass and gold-toned decorative metalware. The collection features a pair of large reproduction flintlock-style pistols, cast with ornate floral scrollwork and intended for wall display. Also included is a classic lion’s head door knocker with a circular striker. A significant portion of the lot comprises Scottish interest souvenirs from Gretna Green, including multiple anvil-shaped ornaments. One notable piece is embossed with the text BLACKSMITH’S ANVIL GRETNA GREEN OVER WHICH MARRIAGES WERE PERFORMED, referencing the historic site’s association with runaway weddings. Other items include a small brass bell, various plaques, and miniature figures. These pieces are typical of mid-20th-century British brassware production. The tray measures approximately 48cm by 32cm.
