Lot 135:
Polished Wood Crop Handle Irish Blackthorn Walking Stick, Circa 1930
Description
A rustic one-piece Irish blackthorn walking stick of substantial form, dating to the early 20th century. The integral crop-style handle is fashioned from the uppermost section of the branch, stripped and polished to a smooth honey-coloured finish to highlight the natural wood grain. The shaft is characterised by its thick, craggy, and deeply textured dark brown bark, left in its natural state. The stick features a natural wood ferrule formed by stripping and tapering the bottom section of the branch to a point. This is a solid walking stick with no hidden system features, hallmarks, or metal fittings. It retains a small inventory sticker and a handwritten descriptive tag. Length 31in.
