Description

This lot features two ceramic lady figurines, one of which serves as a decorative container. The first is a classic Royal Doulton glazed porcelain figurine titled Top o’ the Hill, model number HN 1834, designed by Leslie Harradine. It depicts a woman in a vibrant, wind-swept red dress with a matching wide-brimmed hat accented with a blue ribbon. The base carries the standard Royal Doulton lion and crown backstamp and a 1937 copyright mark. The second item is a two-piece decorative powder or trinket box comprising a lid in the form of a lady in a voluminous pink crinoline dress holding a yellow fan, and a matching fluted pink circular base. While unmarked, the style and subject matter are consistent with German figural porcelain manufacturers. The Royal Doulton figurine stands approximately 18 cm tall.

Condition report:

The Royal Doulton figurine is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs, and the glaze remains bright and intact. The powder box is in good overall condition with no visible chips or structural repairs; however, there is some minor adhesive residue on the underside of the base, likely from a previous label.
