Japanese Manufacture, Collection of Vintage Disney and Decorative Miniature Figurines
Description
A varied collection of over fifteen vintage miniature figurines and decorative items. The lot prominently features Walt Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, Dumbo, Figaro the cat, Fiddler Pig, Fifer Pig, and four of the Seven Dwarfs comprising Doc, Happy, Bashful, and Dopey. These figures are a mix of glazed porcelain and hand-painted bisque, consistent with mid-century Japanese imports such as those by Enesco or Schmid, or Wade Whimsies. The collection also contains two fairytale-style female figures, a floral-patterned porcelain shoe, four miniature display plates with gilded borders and transfer-printed scenes, and two small white animal figures. No visible factory marks or model numbers are present. Height approximately 2.5cm to 10cm.
Condition report:
The items show surface dust and light grime consistent with age. There is significant paint wear and rubbing to the cold-painted details, most notably on Mickey Mouse’s ears and hands and the hats of the Seven Dwarfs. Minor flea-bite chips may be present on delicate edges. One female figure appears to be detached from a base or is a standalone prone piece.
