Smiths Enfield Oak-Veneered Striking Mantel Clock, Mid-20th Century
Description
A mid-20th-century mechanical mantel clock manufactured by Smiths Enfield. The timepiece is housed in an arched oak-veneered wooden case, featuring a silvered dial with Arabic numerals and a silver-tone metal bezel with a glass cover. The dial is marked SMITHS ENFIELD and MADE IN ENGLAND. The movement is a mechanical striking type, indicated by the two winding apertures on the clock face. Dimensions: Approximately 20cm height x 23cm width x 11cm depth.
Condition report:
The case exhibits surface scratches and staining to the oak veneer consistent with age. Minor tarnishing is present on the metal bezel. Two auction stickers are currently attached to the front. The movement is untested for timekeeping or striking functionality, and no winding key is included.
