A Partial Colclough Ivy Leaf Pattern Bone China Tea and Dinner Service
Description
A partial bone china tea and dinner service produced by Colclough, England, in the “Ivy Leaf” pattern. The service is crafted from fine bone china with a white ground, decorated with transfer-printed trailing green ivy vines and finished with scalloped, gilt-trimmed rims. The collection includes multiple dinner plates, side plates, saucers, teacups, and a small creamer jug. The underside of the pieces bears the red and gold Colclough backstamp with a crown, transcribing as: Colclough, BONE CHINA, MADE IN ENGLAND, IVY LEAF. This set represents classic mid-20th-century British ceramic production. Dinner plates approximately 26.5 cm diameter; side plates approximately 16 cm diameter; teacups approximately 7 cm height.
Condition report:
The items appear to be in good overall condition. Visible crazing is present on the underside of at least one piece, and light shelf wear is evident on the unglazed foot rims. The gilt decoration shows minor signs of thinning consistent with age and handling.
