Description

A comprehensive collection of Art Deco fine bone china teaware by Shelley, England. The service is executed in the celebrated geometric Queen Anne shape, distinguished by its octagonal silhouettes and sharp, angular handles. The decoration consists of the U11951 pattern, featuring transfer-printed and hand-painted blue daisies with green foliage against a crisp white ground. The pieces are further embellished with pale green enamel banding to the rims and concentric circular motifs to the centres. The service comprises a teapot and cover, a milk jug or creamer, six teacups, six saucers, six side plates, and two larger cake or bread and butter plates. The underside of the pieces bears the green printed Shelley England backstamp, the hand-painted pattern number U11951, and a red painter mark E. Teapot height approximately 18 cm; Large plate width approximately 24 cm.

Condition report:

The service is offered in good overall condition with a bright and lustrous glaze. There are no apparent chips, cracks, or significant restorations visible upon inspection. Minor surface wear and very light rubbing to the green enamel banding consistent with age and occasional use. The set appears complete as a six-person service with additional serving pieces.
