Description

A graduated set of three nesting tables in the Jacobean revival style, dating from the early to mid-20th century. Constructed from solid oak with a dark stained finish, each table features a rectangular top with moulded edges. The tops are supported by traditional baluster-turned legs, united by low perimeter stretchers for added stability. This set reflects the enduring popularity of Tudor and Stuart design motifs in British furniture manufacturing during the interwar period. The tables are designed to nest neatly beneath one another for space-saving storage. No maker’s marks are present, though an identification tag is attached to one leg. Dimensions (approximate for largest table): 48cm H x 51cm W x 42cm D.

Condition report:

The set is in fair condition but exhibits significant signs of age and heavy domestic use. There is extensive surface scuffing, deep scratches, and noticeable finish loss across all three tops. The smallest table has a loose and partially detached apron rail requiring professional attention. The joints are generally stable, but the set would benefit from a sympathetic restoration and refinishing.
