A Pair of English Carved Oak Side Table and Chair
Description
A pair of carved furniture items, consisting of a two-tiered side table and a coordinating low chair, constructed from dark-stained wood, likely oak, consistent with 19th or early 20th-century English folk art styles. Both pieces feature octagonal forms heavily decorated using deep chip carving techniques, presenting concentric geometric and floral relief patterns across the tops and seats. The table stands on turned spindle legs and includes a lower octagonal shelf, also carved. The chair has a matching carved octagonal seat and a tall, narrow backrest distinguished by a heart-shaped cutout at the top. A small white inventory sticker bearing the number 9268 is affixed to the upper back of the chair.
