Description
A single piece of furniture constructed from dark-stained oak, characteristic of the Eastlake or Aesthetic Movement period. The item functions as a small side table, console, or petite writing desk. It features four turned legs, with the front pair exhibiting spool or bobbin turning. The front apron is decorated with a prominent scalloped or fretwork cut-out design. A tall, shaped backboard rises from the rear of the tabletop, terminating in a pointed pediment that incorporates a small, carved shield or cartouche motif at its center. The overall construction and dark finish are consistent with late 19th or early 20th-century American or English furniture production.
