A Moorcroft Tube-Lined Ceramic Bowl
Description
A single glazed ceramic bowl attributed to Moorcroft. The bowl is executed in the characteristic Art Pottery tube-lining technique. The interior is decorated with a high-relief floral design depicting large lilies in shades of pink, red, and yellow, set against a sage green ground. The exterior is finished with a deep, variegated glaze transitioning from brilliant turquoise-blue near the rim to a pale yellowish-green near the foot. The base bears impressed manufacturer’s marks: MOORCROFT and MADE IN ENGLAND.
