Late Victorian or Edwardian Dark-Stained Wood Wall Shelf Whatnot
Description
A single wall shelf or whatnot constructed of wood with a dark stain, likely dating to the late Victorian or Edwardian period. The unit features two main rectilinear shelves and rounded lower side compartments. The structure is supported and accented by elaborate, symmetrical, scrolled supports flanking the upper surface, topped by pierced decorative fretwork. Visible markings include small white auction inventory stickers on the top shelf, one of which appears to reference “Shelbys Auction Ltd.”
