Lot 490:
A Collection of 28 Souvenir Spoons, Egyptian Papyrus Print, and Religious Collectibles
Description
This collection consists of 28 items of mixed decorative and souvenir collectibles. The largest component is a wooden, curved display rack holding 20 silver-toned souvenir spoons, arranged in four rows of five. These spoons feature various figural finials and enamel crests, likely representing travel destinations or heraldic symbols. Two additional silver-toned souvenir spoons are included in individual plastic presentation cases, bringing the total number of spoons to 22. A significant item is a rolled cylindrical print, identified through research as an Egyptian Papyrus or reproduction thereof, decorated with colorful scenes of pharaohs, hieroglyphics, birds, and imagery of the Pyramids, consistent with market descriptions of hand-painted Egyptian souvenir art. Religious items include a faux-stone composite plaque inscribed with the Lord’s Prayer and mounted with a bronze-toned Corpus Christi figure. A small framed image, likely depicting The Last Supper, is positioned near the plaque. The lot also contains two white composite figurines: a reclining winged creature and a large figure of a winged angel or classical nude. All items appear to be mid-20th century or later decorative pieces.
