A Collection of 7 Vintage Hand-Carved Wood and Ceramic Folk Art Figurines
Description
A collection of seven vintage decorative items, primarily folk art figurines, composed of mixed materials including hand-carved wood and ceramic. The group features two slender, dark-stained wood carvings of African style human figures; one figure is depicted standing with hands clasped in a praying gesture. Also included are three pieces of carved light-colored wood: two utilize natural burl or root structure to form abstract or naturalistic animal shapes, and one is a simplified, blocky carving of an animal, possibly a dog, featuring painted eyes. A small white paper tag marked “82” is visible next to the blocky carving. The collection is completed by two ceramic figurines of fawns or young deer: one finished with a glossy reddish-brown glaze, and the other featuring a matte, grayish-tan finish.
