A Collection of 7 Antique and Vintage Photograph Albums and Loose Studio Portraits
Description
This lot comprises a collection of seven items related to photographic history and ephemera, spanning the late 19th through the mid-20th century. The collection includes two albums and five loose, mounted studio photographs. The primary album is a large, Victorian or Edwardian-style piece featuring a dark, heavily embossed cover decorated with a centralized floral design and detailed borders. The cover displays a sticker marked “6182.” The second album is a small, teal cloth-covered booklet titled “Cigar(ette) Cards.” The five accompanying loose mounted photographs include an early oval sepia portrait of a man mounted on a dark green card, a sepia portrait of a woman, a sepia group portrait of a couple, and two mid-20th-century monochrome studio portraits of women. The two modern portraits are clearly marked on the bottom mount with the studio attribution: “Savoy Studios, 13 Manningham Lane, Bradford.”
