A Large Patinated Bronze Figural Sculpture of a Young Girl and Dog teddy
Description
A single large figural sculpture cast in bronze, executed in the style of late 19th or early 20th-century European bronze work. The standing figure depicts a young girl realistically rendered, wearing a ruffled dress. The girl is positioned looking down, holding up the hem of her skirt, interacting with a low-relief animal figure,Dog teddy, near her feet. A round decorative object or satchel is attached to the front of her dress. The piece exhibits differential patination, with the dress and base displaying a dark, heavy patina, contrasting with the warmer, lighter bronze patina retained on the exposed skin surfaces. The sculpture rests on a rough circular bronze base, which is currently displayed on a separate circular wooden plinth. An auction sticker marked DELAWARE AUCTIONS L01 155 186 is visible on the chest.
