A Collection of Seven Decorative Ceramics, including a Sylvac Green Glazed Vase
Description
A collection of seven items of decorative ceramics and earthenware, consistent with mid-20th-century production. The centerpiece is a large green glazed earthenware vase, heavily modeled with high relief ivy and vine leaves across the body. The base of the vase features impressed black markings reading 2645, SYLVAC, and MADE IN ENGLAND. The collection also includes four items executed in the matte, biscuit-fired style of jasperware, comprising an oval lilac-pink box with white classical relief figures on the lid, two light blue saucers or small plates similarly decorated, and a plain, large light blue circular component. The remaining items consist of a cylindrical lidded jar decorated with colorful transfer prints depicting a figure in a kilt within a pastoral scene, and a small, white ceramic dome or miniature lamp shade molded with relief swags.
