A Collection of 6 Vintage Mixed Soft Toys and Dolls, including Two Large Mohair Teddy Bears
Description
A collection of six vintage mixed soft toys and dolls, consistent with early to mid-20th century construction. The lot includes two large, jointed teddy bears, one fabricated from light tan mohair or plush and the other from greyish-tan mohair or plush. The bears feature stitched noses and glass or plastic eyes, and are fully jointed, typical of period construction. The collection also comprises two dolls: one doll with a stuffed cloth body and a composition head featuring blonde yarn hair, and a smaller baby doll with a vinyl or composition head and limbs, wearing a crocheted garment. Completing the lot are two miniature plush figures: a small tan plush rabbit or bear figure, and a white animal figure (possibly a mouse or rat) with felt ears, holding a small metal fork. The style of the plush bears and animals is reminiscent of the type of stuffed toys that inspired the characters in the Winnie the Pooh stories. The greyish-tan bear displays a white auction sticker marked “6182” adhered to its chest.
