Moorcroft Hibiscus Pattern Dish on Cobalt Blue Ground
Description
A single circular ceramic dish by Moorcroft Art Pottery, featuring the popular Hibiscus pattern executed on a high-gloss cobalt blue glazed ground. The interior decoration utilizes polychrome glazes, likely applied via slip-trailing or hand-painting, depicting two large hibiscus-like flowers—one deep red and one yellow/maroon—surrounded by green leaves. The form is shallow, resembling a plate or shallow bowl. The reverse side maintains the deep blue glaze surrounding a cream-colored base center. Visible markings include an impressed or painted signature or monogram, alongside a stamped mark reading MOORCROFT MADE IN ENGLAND. A small white rectangular sticker bearing the handwritten number 2771 is affixed to the front rim.
