A Large Collection of Vintage and Antique Sewing Buttons and Notions in Red Tray
Description
This lot consists of a large, heterogeneous assemblage of vintage and antique sewing accessories, findings, and buttons, contained within a red plastic storage tray. The bulk of the collection comprises loose buttons fabricated from highly varied materials, including mother-of-pearl, various plastics such as Bakelite and resin, metal, glass, and wood. Styles represented include large dome-shaped pieces, faceted clear glass buttons, carved plastic buttons, and a central large gold-tone button heavily encrusted with clear rhinestones. The lot also includes 16 individual specialized items or packages. These items include a small blue molded plastic case, various clear zipper bags containing beads and findings, a light green box marked with French text “Horlogerie-Bijouterie,” and a vintage paper envelope labeled “FAIRY WHALEBONE COLLAR SUPPORTS… FOR GENTLEWOMEN… BLACK ENGLAND.” Other packaged items include a card of six pearl-like buttons, a card of four yellow plastic buttons, and several bags containing assorted beads, findings, and small buttons.
