Description
A Worcester ‘Thunderbolt & Lightning’ Pattern Tea Bowl and Saucer, circa 1770. This porcelain tea bowl and saucer set is decorated on a white ground with a repeating motif of stylized red and black starbursts and elaborate gold scrollwork. The saucer’s central well and the exterior of the handleless tea bowl each display a prominent floral spray depicting a pink peony-like flower with dark green leaves and red buds, enclosed within concentric gold and brown rings. The rims of both pieces are finished with a thin orange-brown band.
