Lot 67:
A Lowestoft Porcelain Tea Bowl and Saucer, Blackbird Pattern, circa 1775-1790
Description
A Lowestoft porcelain tea bowl and saucer, decorated in the Blackbird pattern. The hand-painted polychrome enamel designs feature a bird perched on flowering branches amidst a rocky landscape, complemented by green vegetation including what appear to be radishes or turnips. Both pieces are finished with a stylized floral border on their rims. Crafted from white glazed porcelain, no discernible text or reign marks are visible on the bases. The saucer’s base presents a possible firing imperfection.
