A Royal Doulton Art Nouveau Style Glazed Ceramic Vase
Description
A Royal Doulton glazed ceramic vase of ovoid form with a short, wide neck. The decoration features a prominent upper band of raised, swirling white and dark blue scrollwork motifs outlined in brown, above a mottled sage green body delineated by vertical brown ‘straps’ extending downwards. The decorative style suggests an Art Nouveau or Arts and Crafts influence. The base bears an impressed manufacturer’s mark ‘ROYAL DOULTON ENGLAND’ alongside a crowned lion device, the number ‘8528,’ and the letter ‘J.’
