Lot 63:
Moorcroft 'Oberon' Vase, Designed by Rachel Bishop
Description
A glazed ceramic vase, known as the ‘Oberon’ pattern, designed by Rachel Bishop for Moorcroft. The vase features a vibrant, multi-color floral decoration in a style characteristic of Arts & Crafts or Art Nouveau. The design includes prominent coral-pink flowers with yellow centers, various yellow and purple blossoms, and green foliage, set against a background that transitions from a dark blue at the rim and base to a lighter peach/ochre tone mid-body. The base is clearly marked “MOORCROFT” and “MADE IN ENGLAND”, accompanied by several blue underglaze painter’s or designer’s marks, including a script “W.M.” or “WM” signature, an ‘M’ mark, and what appears to be ‘CM’ or ‘CXB’ possibly with a crown.
Height: 26 cm (10.25 inches)
