Lot 59:
A Pair of Royal Doulton Mid-Century Modern 'Flambe' Ceramic Fox Figurines
Description
This lot comprises a pair of royal doulton’ ceramic fox figurines, each featuring a glossy deep red glaze with contrasting dark brown/black glazed tails and bases. One fox is depicted seated with an alert posture, and the other is in a prone, resting position. The unglazed undersides bear the incised name “NOY,” the text “HAND PAINTED” and “FLAMBE,” and a circular stamp clearly stating “MADE IN ENGLAND.” The pieces exhibit a mid-century modern aesthetic characterized by smooth, curvilinear forms.
