Lot 213:
A Collection of 19th Century Pink Luster and Black Transferware Tableware
Description
A collection of five pieces of 19th-century ceramic tableware, comprising a large shallow bowl, a smaller handle-less cup, a handled teacup, and two saucers. Two pieces, the large shallow bowl and the handle-less cup, are decorated with polychrome purple, pink, and reddish-brown transferware pastoral scenes. The large bowl features a distinctive wavy rim. The handled teacup and two saucers showcase monochromatic black/dark grey transferware depictions of country houses and landscapes. The overall style is consistent with 19th-century earthenware or fine china production. One teacup bears a blue underglaze factory mark that includes “FRANCE” and partial text “TR…” or “CR…”. A separate saucer retains a handwritten white paper inventory label “15982 721 / 9-7”.
