Description
Early Derby Pottery Cup And Saucer Circa 1800. This white porcelain set is lavishly decorated with extensive gold gilding and thin dark blue enamel bands. The cup features a fluted body with gold scrollwork and a central foliate sprig inside. The saucer displays a wide gold border of classical motifs, a thin blue outer line, and a corresponding central gold foliate sprig. Both pieces bear a purple/mauve crown-like maker’s mark on their bases; the saucer’s mark clearly shows a crown. with a D for Derby pottery.
