This two-part contemporary figural container features a whimsical avian creature resembling a dodo or similar large bird. It has a removable head with a large pink beak and shaggy dark feathers, which uncovers a cylindrical opening in the body. The body consists of textured, dark-feathered elements above a scaled bird’s foot base with prominent claws, resting on a green mound. The unglazed base is marked with a stamped “BURSLEM POTTERY” and multiple handwritten signatures of “Andrew Hall,” along with initials “AH” and “TB 06,” indicating a creation date of 2006.
