Description
An English Pearlware blue and white Chinoiserie plate, circa 1800. This round ceramic plate features a pronounced scalloped edge, decorated in a blue and white Chinoiserie style. The central well depicts a vignette of a seated figure in period attire within a landscape scene that includes a willow tree, a pagoda-like structure, and small flying birds, all encircled by a geometric patterned band. The scalloped rim is edged in a gradient blue glaze. The item is made of earthenware or a similar ceramic material. No visible manufacturer’s marks or text are discernible.
