A Doulton Lambeth Stoneware Vase, dated 1887
Description
A Doulton Lambeth stoneware vase, baluster-shaped, featuring a body with raised, relief-molded floral and foliate decoration in dark green, brown, and blue glazes against a textured, light brown ground with a repeating circular motif. The neck is a solid blue-green, and the everted rim is mottled brown. The base is impressed with a “DOULTON LAMBETH ENGLAND” circular stamp, the date “1887,” an “R.”, and “5-92,” along with other faint alphanumeric characters such as “N.A.L”.
