English Pearlware Blue Decorated Reticulated Plate, circa 1800
Description
An English Pearlware blue decorated reticulated plate, circa 1800. This round, shallow ceramic plate, likely porcelain, features underglaze cobalt blue decoration on a white body. The central well displays a stylized floral motif with scrolling foliage, characteristic of East Asian influence or Chinoiserie styles. An inner border encircles this motif with a band of fine blue dots or dashes. The rim is prominently reticulated, featuring a pierced, openwork design with decorative cutouts, bordered by a solid blue line. No manufacturer’s marks or text are discernible.
