A First Period Worcester Porcelain 'Mansfield' Pattern Tea Bowl and Saucer, circa 1770
Description
A First Period Worcester porcelain ‘Mansfield’ pattern tea bowl and saucer, circa 1770. Both pieces feature hand-painted underglaze blue decoration comprising a central floral spray of stylized blossoms, possibly peonies, intertwined with scrolling foliage and small berry-like elements, all framed by a decorative scalloped or geometric border band along the rim. The base of the tea bowl and the underside of the saucer each exhibit a simple, single blue crescent mark.
