A Chelsea Porcelain Teacup and Saucer, circa 1752-1756
Description
A Chelsea porcelain teacup and saucer, dating to circa 1752-56, crafted from bone porcelain. Both pieces are adorned with hand-painted polychrome floral sprays scattered across a plain white ground. A decorative border, featuring gilded lines, turquoise-blue scrolling foliage, and repeating gold medallions, encircles the rim of the saucer and the upper band of the bowl-shaped, footed cup. Each piece bears a small, hand-painted iron-red mark on its underside, resembling a stylized anchor or cross. Chelsea Pottery Mark
