Description

A Liverpool Pearlware Plate, dating to circa 1780. This glazed ceramic plate or shallow bowl features a scalloped, moulded rim and is decorated in underglaze blue. The central decoration comprises a stylized floral arrangement with a prominent rose-like bloom, smaller bell-shaped flowers, and foliage, accented by scattered smaller sprigs within the well. A simple blue line follows the contours of the scalloped rim. The item bears an attached handwritten tag indicating “No. 394.”
