An 18th Century English George III Creamware Tea Bowl and Saucer with Black Transfer Floral Decoration, Circa 1770
Description
An 18th Century English George III creamware tea bowl and saucer set, decorated in a grisaille (black and grey) floral pattern, primarily featuring a large central floral spray on the saucer with smaller motifs on the rims of both pieces, accented by subtle gilt details. The reverse of the saucer bears a handwritten label stating ‘Chinese painted tea bowl & saucer c. 1770 £58’ and an additional sticker marked ‘3113 b’. The base of the tea bowl has an illegible white sticker and a dark, stylized mark, possibly a character or motif.
