A Royal Doulton Art Nouveau Floral Stoneware Jug, Dated 1887
Description
A Royal Doulton Art Nouveau Floral Stoneware Jug. This tall, handled ceramic jug features a predominantly beige body with vertical fluting, accented by decorative bands of impressed floral and foliate motifs rendered in contrasting dark brown and tan glazes around the neck and base. The top rim and handle are also dark brown. The underside bears an impressed British Registry Mark, including ‘3 O 8 G’, dating the piece to 1887, along with an additional impressed ’38’ or ’88’ and faint partial lettering, likely ‘ENGLAND’.
