Description

A Doulton Lambeth salt-glazed stoneware jug with a globular body, tapered neck, pinched spout, and an applied C-shaped handle. The light tan or buff-colored body is extensively decorated with cobalt blue hand-painted and applied elements, including stylized foliage on the neck, intricate scrolling motifs on the main body, and bands of raised florets or rosettes on the shoulder and mid-section. The unglazed base features an impressed oval mark reading “DOULTON LAMBETH” and a separate impressed script monogram, possibly “JB” or “HB.”
