Description
A Liverpool Pennington ‘Fisherman’ Pattern octagonal ceramic dish, circa 1780. Decorated in underglaze blue on a white ground. The central well features an East Asian landscape scene with figures, structures, trees, and birds, framed by a wavy cartouche. The broad rim is adorned with scrollwork and floral motifs. The unglazed reverse has a speckled appearance and bears two affixed labels: a circular paper label reading “RARE LIVERPOOL PENNINGTON” and a second label inscribed with “£895 C1780”.
