A Leeds Pearlware Blue and White Jug, Circa 1800
Description
A Leeds Pearlware blue and white jug, circa 1800. The footed white glazed ceramic pitcher features a bulbous, vertically fluted body, a tapering neck with a pouring spout, and an applied, ribbed S-shaped handle. It is decorated with underglaze blue hand-painted motifs, including vertical stylized drapery elements and central floral sprays, complemented by small floral designs at the handle attachments. A handwritten label bearing the text ‘LEEDS’ is visible on the base.
