First Period Worcester Porcelain Leaf Dish, circa 1760-1770
Description
A First Period Worcester porcelain leaf dish, dating to circa 1760-1770. This white ceramic or porcelain dish is distinctly modeled in a naturalistic leaf shape, featuring an undulating rim and a short stem-like projection. The obverse is decorated with underglaze blue stylized floral and botanical motifs, exhibiting varying washes and details. The reverse has a plain white glazed surface with a single blue mark resembling the Chinese character ‘工’ (gōng).
