Chippendale Style Mahogany Slant-Front Secretary Desk
Description
A 20th-century Chippendale style mahogany slant-front secretary desk. This traditional revival piece is constructed from dark reddish-brown wood, likely mahogany or a mahogany veneer. It features four full-width drawers below a hinged fall-front. The drawers are fitted with brass bail pulls and backplates, while the fall-front has a brass key escutcheon. When open, the desk reveals an interior fitted with pigeonholes, small drawers, and a central compartment, along with an inset writing surface appearing to be tan or brown leather or faux leather with decorative blind tooling. No visible text or manufacturer’s markings are present.
