Lot 69:
A Collection of Assorted Chinese and East Asian Porcelain and Ceramic Tableware
Description
This collection comprises eleven assorted ceramic and porcelain objects, predominantly displaying East Asian, likely Chinese, decorative styles. The items include a pair of candlestick holders, a large open basin, two creamers/pitchers, and seven lidded vessels comprising three teapots, a lidded cup, and three smaller lidded pots/jars. Crafted from glazed earthenware or porcelain, many pieces exhibit gilt accents alongside hand-painted polychrome or blue and white designs. Recurring motifs include traditional figures in landscapes or on horseback, intricate floral patterns, auspicious red dragons, and geometric borders. Notably, the lidded cup and the vibrant yellow teapot feature stylized red characters, identifiable as “Shou” (寿), which translates to “longevity” or “long life.”
